Our Mission...
...is to provide reliable and fair exams that not only test students’ ability to communicate, but also give a positive and motivating goal for students and their teachers to work towards.
We believe that communication abilities are more important than a theoretical knowledge of language systems. Thus, we take special care to design tests which have a positive washback effect on teaching.
For Schools, Universities and the Workplace
The Euroexams comprise three suites of English exams:
- General English: levels A1–C1,
- Business and Professional English: B1–C1,
- Academic English: only C1.
Each exam consists of four tests, which cover the four principal language and communication skills (writing, reading, listening and speaking).
Since 2001, Euroexam International has provided half a million standardised exams that test candidates’ language skills in exam tasks that reflect real-world communication.
Transparent and Secure Exam Procedures Meeting International Standards
A reliable and fair exam is more than just good tests written by international experts with a thorough background in teaching. Euroexam International is an exam board operating on three continents and is subject to rigorous international standards. The Quality Assurance and Security procedures governing Euroexams are fully transparent. All written exam scripts are returned for marking by independent examiners in the UK and in Euroexam’s regional centres across the EU. Speaking tests are recorded and transferred electronically for marking by our accredited examiners. Our team of native English and German speaking interlocutors and invigilators who supervise the examinations play no role in the marking or assessment process. In these ways Euroexams has proven itself to be fair, impartial and secure.
Wide Range of Exam Preparation and Practice Resources
Euroexams are written with learners and their teachers in mind. Both groups are provided a range of offline and online learning and teaching materials to maximise the learners' exam success. The majority of these materials are available free of charge.
MyEuroexam
Key educational resources can be found on our online platform MyEuroexam. These include:
- individual exam tasks with preparation and exam tips written by experienced examiners;

Online Practice Exam
For test-takers taking the online Euroexams at B2 and C1 levels, our Online Practice Exam offers one or more rounds of level testing. The online practice exam is an ideal opportunity for test-takers to familiarise themselves with the formats and features of the online exam. Each Online Practice Exam contains unique tasks not found in other practice exams.
Coursebooks and Testbooks
Euroexam International publishes its Eurocity range of preparation coursebooks designed for both self-study and teacher-led preparation. The coursebooks are available for the B1, B2 and C1 levels, and they provide 40-50 hours of study materials, including skill development and exam skills practice. Past examination papers are also available in our Practice Test Books for A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1 levels and with 3 sets of full exams in each book.

Fully Aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
Euroexam International adopted the CEFR as the foundation for the Euroexams and all our tests are designed around the well-known “can-do” statements of the Framework. In 2001, the Euroexams became the first international examination system for which the specification of levels, the exam tasks, the breakdown of certificate results and even the related course books and preparation materials all directly corresponded to the CEFR standard. Achieving authenticity and applying the action-oriented model of communication is at the heart of the General, Business and Academic suites of the Euroexams.
International Awards and Recognition
In collaboration with other leading institutions, Euroexam International was selected to join a Council of Europe-led project to develop recommended procedures for examination centres across Europe. The result of this work became known as the ‘Council of Europe Manual,’ which since 2004 has been used widely by examination centres and universities to link their own tests to the Framework. In 2015 the Euroexam Centre joined other important research programmes led by the Council of Europe to develop new calibrated level descriptors for 'Mediation' in preparation for the the extended version of the Common European Framework.
The Euroexams were the choice of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain when the Chamber was looking for a long-term partner to provide Business English examinations for its professional clients.
In 2001 the Euroexam Centre was awarded the prestigious European Language Label for its “innovative approach in applying the Common European Framework in test development". Ten years later in 2011 the Euroexam Centre received the European Language Label for the second time, awarded for its newly developed online e-learning courses.
