We receive initial and ongoing training in a face-to-face environment yet now more than ever spend a higher percentage of time in the online classroom. You may at times have felt overwhelmed by the range of tools, apps, websites and learning management systems available for the online teacher.

This 8-hour course is designed for online delivery and is about making the right choices for your online or blended teaching, stripping away the clutter and focusing on essentials. The course is ideally suited to you if you have some experience of online and / or blended learning but would like to refine and systematise your knowledge of key tools and techniques in this context. Among other areas, it will focus on:

key variations e.g. fully online, blended learning, flipped learning, issues in synchronous vs. asynchronous teaching and learning;
effectively managing the online classroom;
review of key learning management systems and virtual learning environments;
key tools and apps, features and pitfalls;
autonomy and assessment in online and blended learning.
